Privacy Policy — Image Utils

Overview

      Image Utils processes all of your photos entirely on your device. We do not upload, transmit, or store your images on any server.
    

This Privacy Policy explains what information Image Utils ("the App", "we", "our") collects, how it is used, and your rights as a user. By using the App you agree to the practices described here.

Information We Collect

Images & Files
The App requests access to your device storage solely to let you select images for editing and to save the processed output to Pictures/Image Utils/ on your device. Your images are never sent off your device by the App itself.

Usage & Crash Data (Firebase)
We use Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand how the App is used and to diagnose crashes. These services may collect:

Anonymous event data (e.g. which tool was opened)
Device model, OS version, and app version
Crash stack traces and diagnostic information

No personally identifiable information is intentionally included in these reports. Firebase data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Advertising Data (Google AdMob)
The App displays ads served by Google AdMob and its mediation partners (including Meta Audience Network). AdMob may collect and use data such as:

Advertising ID and device identifiers
IP address and coarse location
App interactions for ad targeting and measurement

Ad data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and Meta's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of personalised ads at any time through your device's ad settings (Settings → Google → Ads).

On-Device Machine Learning (Google ML Kit)
The "Remove Background" feature uses Google ML Kit Subject Segmentation. All ML inference runs locally on your device. No image data is sent to Google for this feature.

How We Use Information

To provide and improve the App's features
To diagnose bugs and crashes via anonymised crash reports
To display relevant advertisements that help fund the App
To understand aggregate usage patterns (no individual profiling)

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Permissions

READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE — to let you pick images from your gallery.
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 9 and below) — to save processed images to Pictures/Image Utils/.
INTERNET — required to load advertisements and send anonymised crash/analytics data.

The App never requests access to your contacts, microphone, camera, location, or any other sensitive permission not listed above.

Data Retention & Deletion

The App stores output images locally on your device inside Pictures/Image Utils/. You can delete these files at any time through the App's My Images tab or via your device's file manager.

Anonymised analytics and crash data retained by Firebase is subject to Google's own retention policies (typically 14 months for Analytics). We do not have the ability to identify or delete individual records in these services.

Children's Privacy

Image Utils is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with a revised "Last updated" date below. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
